Week 2 complete!

Yesterday evening completed Week 2 of the C25K program. Now I'm up to running 90 seconds at a time with walking in between. The next session increases that to 3 minutes of running segments. We shall see how it goes?

Last night was my first experience of almost getting run off the road by a truck. Note to self: don't run near the park where the peewee football team practices when the parents are leaving! Apparently dually trucks think they need both lanes plus the shoulder!

I'm surprised at how much I enjoy running. I don't think I'm ready for the 5K at the Spirit of Survival Marathon in a few weeks but am going to do the Spirit Walk with my co-workers. That will be fun!

Day 1 of Week 2

On Saturday morning, I woke up and hit the roads to squeeze my "wog" in before heading out to spend time with my family.

This was my first day into Week 2 of the program and the running intervals increased to 90 seconds with two minute walking intervals for recovery. Although the additional 30 seconds pushed me a little more than the previous week, I was still able to keep running but I was begging to hear that robotic woman's voice on my Couch to 5K iPhone ap telling me I could walk!

With the Labor Day weekend, I am a little off track but plan to run in the morning. I'm noticing that I feel so much better when I get my exercise in - I'm definitely less stressed if I've ran.
